FILM FESTIVAL

Brief

DHL wanted the six areas of its Emerging Markets Region to be recognised for all their hard work from the previous year, and also to educate them on how the company will be approaching the next business year.

Our Response

Maverick set a challenging yet fun task for each area within the region to complete: They had three months to produce a 10 minute film demonstrating their past achievements and future goals. These would later be showcased to the entire region at the Film Festival 2008, with a range of awards on offer. Prior to the event, each area received a pelican case pack containing filming and editing equipment, as well as a Film Festival Manual that included all the relevant instructions.

Three months on and it was the night of the glamorous award ceremony. The outside of the venue projected the Film Festival brand, search lights scanned the sky, and as the elegantly dressed guests approached the venue on the red carpet they were photographed and interviewed in front of the press board. Inside the venue, guests enjoyed a silver service three course meal whilst experiencing the movies and the entertaining award ceremony. The film makers were nominated for a variety of awards, ranging from best script and best acting performance, to more comic awards such as best hair doo!

The evening concluded with an after-party taking place in the exclusively created nightclub. This chic club posed a modern look, consisting of black and white walls and furniture, with a hint of colour from the neon lights flashing and reflecting off the dance floor.

The Results

The thought put into both the set-up during the months leading up to the event, and the actual film festival evening, was considered by DHL to be outstanding. It was universally accepted that the ultimate goal of showcasing EEMEA’s work ethic for the previous and up-coming business year, was achieved through hosting a highly entertaining and enjoyable evening event.
