GILLETTE VENUS HIGH HEEL HIGH SCHOOL MEDIA DAY

Brief

Gillette Venus intended to hold an interactive media day to ensure that awareness of Venus Breeze remained strong throughout the summer months as well as continuing to generate ‘new news’. As such, Maverick were brought in to create the scene that would bring the ‘High Heel High School’ concept to life.

Our Response

The creative for the set was feminine and fashionable, with Maverick working tirelessly to create four areas within the pink and coral room; the walls of which were decorated with pearls and diamontes to create a truly glamorous venue.

As guests entered the room, they were greeted by lifestyle guru and author Camilla Morten, who invited them in to discuss shoes and fashionable footwear whilst relaxing on sleek white leather sofas, under funky modern lighting in the Venus brand colours. Appropriately, stacked up shoes surrounded the area, clearly displayed in transparent shoe boxes artistically stacked atop one another.

After focusing on shoes, guests then moved on to Hannah Sandling’s area. The acclaimed fashion expert offered clothing tips and advice, whilst also exhibiting her personal collection in a cream antique French armoire wardrobe, displayed on silk padded clothes hangers. This mini set appeared complete with dress making mannequin and elegant antique chairs, both of which displayed further garments from the collection.

After receiving footwear and clothing advice from the experts, the guests were then ready to step onto the Venus-branded catwalk: a 16 foot runway complete with studio lighting and upbeat music to strut to. This was constructed so that guests could put into practice the advice they were receiving from established catwalk choreographer Lee Lapthorne. At the head of the runway was an eight foot antique mirror - for guests to view their technique - along with large mirrors running the entire length of the catwalk.

After this, guests then stepped down into the treatment zone where they could enjoy a relaxing pedicure whilst receiving expert tips on achieving silky smooth legs from Dr Kristina Vanoosthuyze. At this stage, white branded plinths displayed the range of Venus products for the benefit of the attending media.

The Results

Thanks to the attention to detail, contributing themes, and expertise involved, the event was extremely popular with all attendees. Equally important, Gillette Venus were delighted with both the outcome and the interest shown by the media, and were very appreciative of Maverick’s creative contribution.
