Top Gear Bahrain
Brief
One year on and DHL EEMEA were back and ready for another exciting regional kick-off event. Their internal campaign for 2008, Top Gear, would review their year in Pole Position and examine how this would accelerate them into Top Gear for the year ahead.
Our Response
The event was originally due to take place in Kenya, however a last minute decision was made to change the location to Bahrain due to the unfortunate political circumstances at the end of 2007.
As this year the event was held at the Bahrain International Circuit, the continuing theme of F1, and how DHL’s business is reflected in this, was once again employed for the Top Gear launch. However, the innovative twist for this year’s event would see the entire conference being encapsulated in a large inflatable dome venue. The three day conference saw senior managers from all over DHL’s Emerging Markets Region come together to hear an inspirational speaker, attend a film festival awards evening, participate in business-message-based activities incorporating all aspects of the circuit – oh and present to one another how they will be jumping into Top Gear for 2008.
The Results
DHL EEMEA were thoroughly impressed with the smooth transition to a brand new location considering the three week notice given. They felt the use of such a unique structure made for an original and compelling approach to conferencing – one that has motivated their region to jump into Top Gear for 2008.
